Mantrailing Sessions in Yorkshire
What is Mantrailing?
Mantrailing is teaching dogs to find people. Dogs have an incredible sense of smell and are capable of holding a specific scent in order to trail a person's path to find them.
Any dog can take part in this activity, from puppies to our golden oldies. Dogs are worked individually and on leash so it can be a great way of working with dogs who are reactive.
All training is positive and reward based, helping you read your dog's body language and build a strong relationship so you can work together in the sport of mantrailing.
Who are we?
I'm Rosie, my two dogs are Harley & Jess and we are based in West Yorkshire near Leeds and Wakefield. Like many people I began training my own dogs which then sparked an interest in learning more about different dog sports and what makes dogs "tick".
Our mantrailing journey began in 2018 with an introduction session and we loved it so much that I decided to complete the Mantrailing UK Instructor course.
This amazing sport never fails to impress with a showcase of dogs' natural sniffing abilities. It is now a big part of our activities together.
As part of my CPD I am committed to improve and keep my skills up to date by completing training every year. In addition to this I am a CPD member of NICE (National Institute of Canine Ethics) where I complete a range of CPD. I am also studying with The School of Canine Science on their Behaviour Bible course.
